$25 Challenge - Growing Fast

Broccoli, cultivar unknownImage via Wikipedia The warmer weather has the garden booming away. Still waiting on some new infrastructure before I can plant in readiness for summer crops. Unfortunately, the rain has pretty much disappeared so water is again becoming an issue. :(

Picked this week:

300g Broccoli $2.00
Red Cabbage $6.00
Shallots $1.00
Parsley $1.00

Almost made it half way this week. The red cabbages are doing well although I really need to set some slug traps.

The parsley is absolutely booming away now. Not quite as much as River's though. ;)

I planted way too much and the stuff grew into a 4 metre long hedge. It's only 8 inches high though. Last season I "lost" a few when hubby wanted the space for something else, that's why the extra plants. Next season I'll stick with 3, one for fresh and two for drying.

What a great idea for a challenge. I reckon you should absolutely do it on organic prices, after all then it's more like comparing oranges to oranges so to speak ;)

If you want I am more than happy to give you updates on the price per kilo of different F&V.

Do you have any capsicums planted? You'd be at the $25 in no time at all! ;)
