The trouble with Corn is....

It thinks it owns the garden!!!!

This morning I have been trying to dig up the roots from my sweetcorn plants.

Do you think they want to vacate the premises so that the next tenant can move in???

N.O.!!!!!

At this rate I'm going to have to call in the Sheriff's Department (AKA my husband) to evict them!!!!

It doesn't help that the dirt is bone dry and rock solid!!!!

I thought I'd wait until after a rain to try and dig them out.

It rained yesterday. Obviously not enough because the ground just isn't the least bit wet. :(

I've put some water out there and now giving it a few minutes to soak.

And my arm muscles a few minutes rest.

Oh well....best get back to it.

Progress report later..... I hope! :)

Oh, I had a flood help me get the last of the corn out - helps if you plant it in a low lying area with little drainage (didn't know that at the time) after about 4 inches (wasn't expecting that either).

Have you ever tried uprooting eggplant? Any tips? Just the same only WORSERER!

And now the beggars (who have the most pestilent of bitter fruit) (I love eggplant) (just not these) have started flowering again.

Well, that's one way to get it out.

Have never grown (or eaten) Eggplant and from the sounds of it I might keep it down my list a little.

I LOVE the word Worserer!!! :)

Why is it always the plants no-one really likes to eat that are the easiest to grow????
